We had a bit of a storm last night... high winds and rain.
So this morning I jumped in the car and ...(well spent 20 minutes using de-icer to get the ice glaze of the car’s windows on the outside and the engine running to de-ice the inside) went up to the apiary.. the 4wd on the car was useful going up the last bit into the apiary as it was slightly slippery.
The hives were all standing and the only damage was the lid had blown off the dustbin and some rubbish needed to be cleaned up.
Closer inspection showed that every hive had a ice glaze over it, and then to my surprise a bee flew out and did a circuit round me and flew back inside!
